As a Variety Ambassador, Piper uses her platform to inspire children with a passion for music to dream big!
When Piper Butcher steps onto a stage today, she's captivating audiences across Australia with a voice that's as powerful as it is soulful.
From performing alongside some of the country's biggest names to appearing on Australian Idol, touring nationally and internationally, and earning recognition as one of Australia's most exciting emerging artists, Piper's career has gone from strength to strength.
But behind the growing list of accolades is a story of resilience, determination and a little help at the right time.
Born with a cleft palate and Pierre Robin Sequence, Piper spent much of her childhood undergoing surgeries and speech therapy. Music became more than a passion—it became a way to find her voice, both literally and figuratively.
"I was born with a condition that affected my ability to eat and speak," Piper said.
"After years of surgeries and therapy, I'm now able to use my voice every single day doing what I love most. I never take that for granted."
As a young musician, Piper first received a Variety Heart Scholarship in 2018, helping her pursue her dream of a career in music.
"The Variety Heart Scholarship gave me the confidence to keep believing in myself and my music," she said.
"It wasn't just financial support. It was knowing that people believed in me and wanted to see me succeed."
Since then, Piper's career has flourished.
She has shared the stage with artists including Kasey Chambers, Brad Cox, The Waifs and Robben Ford, performed at major festivals across Australia and the United States, been recognised as the CMAA Young Achiever of the Year, featured on Australian Idol, toured nationally, and continues to release acclaimed original music to growing audiences around the world.
Despite her remarkable success, Piper has never forgotten where her journey began.
Today, she proudly gives back as a Variety Ambassador, using her platform to inspire children who are sick, living with a disability or experiencing disadvantage to dream big.
"I know first-hand what it feels like to need support when you're young," Piper said.
"To now be able to represent Variety and hopefully encourage other young people to believe in themselves is incredibly special."
Whether she's performing to thousands of people or meeting children and families through Variety, Piper hopes her story reminds others that challenges don't define what's possible.
"Everyone deserves the chance to follow their dreams," she said.
"If my journey shows one young person that they can overcome obstacles and achieve something they never thought possible, then that's something I'll always be proud of."
