Matthew Saunders

Matthew (Mat) Saunders joined the Board of Variety in 2020 and has worked with KPMG for more than 35 years. Mat is a Chartered Accountant, and his last 25 years at KPMG have largely focused on Merger and Acquisition (M&A) activity, specialising in due diligence. 

Mat has worked on some of Australia’s largest M&A deals, including complex transformational transactions associated with large-scale change and high-profile organisations. This has given him experience working with some of Australia’s largest businesses and government organisations. Mat brings strong team leadership skills, having been a Partner at KPMG since 2007. He is Partner-in-Charge of KPMG Australia’s Integration and Separation team, which includes approximately 50 partners and staff. Mat has been heavily involved in organising and participating in Spin 4 Kids events and leads Variety’s Finance and Audit Committee.
