$68,000 raised at Spin 4 Kids Newcastle 2023
Variety Star Shape

Novocastrians… you did it again! You put your pedal to the metal and took on the ultimate spin bike challenge to support kids who are sick, experiencing disadvantage or living with a disability.

This year, 27 spandex- and tutu-clad teams saddled up for the 7th annual Variety Spin 4 Kids Newcastle! 17 teams joined in the fun at The Betting Rings at Newcastle Racecourse (the rain wasn’t stopping us) with 10 virtual teams kept the pedals spinning across Newie.

Over the course of the day, our teams cycled a combined 4354 km and raised more than $68,000 for kids who are sick, experiencing disadvantage or living with a disability.

On behalf of the kids and families we support – THANK YOU!

Huge congratulations to those who nailed their kilometres and fundraising efforts (not to mention their outfits) to be crowned winners on the day:

  • Best Dressed Team: Team Nusport
  • Spirit of Spin Virtual: ATB Morton 2
  • Spirit of Spin Live Event: Nusport Family
  • 24 Hour Fundraising Challenge – Vaneet Kullar from Woolworths 360 Smarter Operations ($349.99)
  • Highest Fundraising Team: Pitchers Pedallers ($8,443)
  • Highest Fundraising Individual: Derrick Eube from Pitchers Pedallers ($2,041.75)
  • Kings and Queens of Spin: F45 Training (213.75 km)

Last but not least, we want to thank our event sponsors – Spin 4 Kids Newcastle would not be possible without you!

Presenting Partners Newcastle Coal Infrastructure Group – Huge thanks for being part of the day and ensuring this is such a successful event. We look forward continuing working with you!

Thank you to AJM Photography for the happy snaps and Woolworths for providing fresh fruit to keep us spinning!
